YouTube integrates Google Moderator

Last week, YouTube integrated the ability to use Google Moderator into YouTube channels. Google Moderator is a social platform allowing you to solicit ideas or questions on any topic, and have the YouTube community vote the best ones up to the top in real-time. In their official blog, YouTube uses video examples to demonstrate the features and how Google Moderator works.

 

Facebook unveils simplified privacy settings

Following extensive complaints over its privacy settings, Facebook has unveiled "drastically simplified" settings focusing on "a single control for your content, more powerful controls for your basic information and an easy control to turn off all applications", according to founder Mark Zuckerberg. A new privacy page is explaining the changes. In further news, Facebook has bought ShareGrove, a private content-sharing startup providing users with the possibility to chat with private groups - this could help to improve the Facebook chat feature, which still has glitches and is lacking in functionality compared to other chat providers.

 

Google sued for damages over walking directions

And finally, a woman in the US is suing Google for damages after she Googled walking directions for a trip in Park City, Utah and was struck by a vehicle on the busy motorway Google Maps had led her to. Lauren Rosenberg is suing both the person who hit her as well as Google for damages "in excess of $100,000". The jury is still out on this one...
