Analyse your competitors with Google Adwords

Google has announced the launch of Analyze Competition, a new limited beta AdWords feature that gives users more insight into their AdWords competitors, available under the Opportunities tab. Analyze Competition looks at your campaigns over the past two weeks and lists categories representing the products or services you're advertising. A bar graph shows your individual performance compared to the average performance of other advertisers in the same category. Google has produced a help document for this new feature.



Yahoo Answers connects to Facebook

A new partnership between Yahoo and Facebook could increase traffic for both sites, as Yahoo will add a Facebook link to Yahoo Answers from this Wednesday. According to their blog, the "new Yahoo! Answers feature that will allow you to share your Answers content with your Facebook friends! This means your friends on Facebook can now help you answer your questions if you choose to share them. Your Facebook friends can also join Y ahoo! Answers and connect with our amazing community to have the many questions they have answered." For users, the main benefit of a Facebook link would mean exposing their questions on Yahoo Answers to a far greater community.



Google News experiments with Editor's Picks

Previously a fully computer-generated news aggregator, Google News is about to launch a limited test involving human editors from their partner news organisations manually choosing articles for inclusion in Google News, according to the The Nieman Journalism Lab.


A small percentage of Google News users will find a new box of content labelled Editor's Picks, created by human news editors of less than a dozen news outlets that are not paying Google to be featured like this. These news publishers include The Washington Post, Newsday, Reuters and Slate.
